What Are Tennessee’s Delta 8 Laws? Is Delta 8 Legal?
As of October 12, 2020, delta 8 THC is legal in Tennessee, and its laws are similar to federal law. As such, Tennessee has officially legalized all derivatives, cannabinoids, and isomers of hemp such as tetrahydrocannabinols (aside from delta 9 THC).
Under Senate Bill No. 357, Hemp is defined as “the plant cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of not more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) on a dry weight basis;” while THC is specified as delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol.
It is also specified in Section 1 that marijuana does not include hemp as defined earlier in the bill.
